**Hyderabad, India** – Apple has launched a new version of its compact desktop computer, the Mac Mini, in the Indian market. This comes a day after the launch of the 24-inch iMac M2. The new Mac Mini is available in two chipset options: M2 and M2 Pro.
The M2-powered Mac Mini boasts a 1.7 times faster performance compared to the Mac Mini M1, according to Apple. Meanwhile, the M2 Pro-powered desktop computer can complete 3D renders in Blender 2.9 times faster.
**M2 Chip Specifications**
The Mac Mini with the M2 chipset features a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, up to 24GB of unified memory, and up to 512GB of onboard SSD storage. Apple claims this model offers 1.8 times better CPU performance and 2.2 times better GPU performance compared to the M1 model.
**M2 Pro Chip Specifications**
Apple has also introduced a more powerful Mac Mini variant powered by the new M2 Pro chipset. This version features a 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, up to 64GB of unified memory, and up to 8TB of SSD storage. Apple claims this model renders motion graphics in RAM twice as fast compared to the M2 Pro Mac Mini.
**Connectivity and Pricing**
Both Mac Mini models come with support for Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI features. Connectivity options include two USB Type-C ports with USB 3 speed and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the front. The rear features three Thunderbolt 4 ports on the M2 model and three Thunderbolt 5 ports on the M2 Pro model. Both models have Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI port.
The M2-powered Mac Mini starts at ₹59,900 for the base model with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, and 256GB of onboard SSD storage. This model can be configured with up to 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The M2 Pro-powered Mac Mini is priced at ₹1,49,900 for the model with a 12-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 24GB of unified memory, and 512GB of onboard SSD storage. Apple states users can customize the Mac Mini with a 14-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 64GB of unified memory, and up to 8TB of SSD storage.
Both models offer the option to add 10-Gigabit Ethernet for an additional ₹10,000.
The new Mac Mini is available for pre-order from Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Retailers, with shipments starting from November 8th.
