Mon Oct 28 22:19:29 UTC 2024: ## PTI MNA Marwat Criticizes KP Government for Neglecting Imran Khan, Calls for Unity
**PESHAWAR:** Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat launched a scathing attack on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday, accusing it of neglecting imprisoned party founder Imran Khan. Addressing a PTI rally in Peshawar, Marwat alleged that party leaders were more focused on personal gains and internal power struggles than supporting their imprisoned leader.
Marwat expressed his disappointment, stating that the party’s loyalty towards Imran Khan has been overshadowed by internal conflicts and ambitions for ministerial positions. He criticized some KP ministers for prioritizing their own benefits over promoting the party’s goals. He claimed that he had been threatened with expulsion from the party for speaking out but asserted that such threats would not deter him.
The MNA vowed to meet with Imran Khan to discuss the situation within the KP government and inform him about alleged misdeeds, including the promotion of officials who he believes should be prosecuted. He specifically condemned the recent promotion of a police officer who allegedly opened fire on him in Bajaur.
Marwat called for a decisive approach to secure Imran Khan’s release and urged for unity within the party. His remarks come amidst reports of internal conflicts within the PTI, which surfaced during recent protests and the voting on the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
The recent resignation of Zain Qureshi as PTI’s deputy parliamentary leader in the National Assembly due to differences with the party leadership further highlights the internal tensions. Marwat, who has previously clashed with other party leaders, had faced a termination of his basic party membership in August but later apologized for his statements against the PTI leadership.
