**New Delhi:** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2025, which will be held in two sessions – January and April – for the academic year 2025-26.
The first session of JEE Mains 2025 will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025. Online applications for the exam have commenced, with the last date to apply being November 22, 2024, at 9:00 PM. Candidates can pay the application fee through credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI till 11:50 PM on November 22, 2024.
The exam cities will be announced in the first week of January 2025, while admit cards will be released three days prior to the exam. The results for the first session are expected to be declared by February 12, 2025.
JEE Mains 2025 will be a 300-mark exam for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. Paper 1 will have 25 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
In a recent announcement, the NTA confirmed the removal of optional questions from the exam. This decision, previously implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensures a uniform pattern for the upcoming exam.
JEE Mains is a national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other technical institutes. It is also a qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The exam is conducted twice a year, once in the last week of January or the first week of February and again in April. Candidates need to register separately for each session.
