Tue Oct 29 15:20:00 UTC 2024: ## India Women Clinch Series Win with Thrilling Six-Wicket Victory Over New Zealand

**Ahmedabad, India:** India Women secured a thrilling victory over New Zealand Women in the third and final ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, clinching the series 2-1.

The Indian women chased down a challenging target of 233 runs with six wickets to spare, thanks to a brilliant century by Smriti Mandhana (103) and a crucial knock of 57 by Harmanpreet Kaur.

The chase was far from easy, with New Zealand putting up a strong fight. They were led by a gritty 86-run knock by Brooke Halliday, who carried her side after a shaky start.

Early wickets from Renuka Singh and Priya Mishra had put New Zealand on the back foot, but Halliday and Isabella Gaze (22) stitched together a crucial partnership that threatened to turn the tide.

However, India’s bowlers kept things tight, eventually bowling New Zealand out for 232 in 49.5 overs.

Mandhana’s hundred, her eighth in ODIs, helped her surpass Mithali Raj’s record of seven centuries for India.

Harmanpreet, despite battling cramps, played a key role, hitting the winning run for India. The Indian captain also took a couple of crucial wickets, adding to the all-round performance.

The match was an exciting affair, with both teams displaying impressive performances. India’s series win marks a strong comeback after a disappointing loss in the second ODI.
