**LAHORE, Pakistan (October 28, 2024):** Gary Kirsten has stepped down as Pakistan’s white-ball coach after just six months in the role, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Monday.

Kirsten, who famously led India to the 2011 ODI World Cup victory, was appointed in April to oversee Pakistan’s one-day and T20 International teams. However, his tenure has come to a sudden end, with no official reason given for his resignation.

Test coach Jason Gillespie will take over as interim coach for Pakistan’s upcoming limited-overs tour of Australia, which starts next week. The tour includes three ODIs and three T20Is from November 4th to 18th, followed by six more limited-overs matches in Zimbabwe.

Kirsten’s departure comes just days after the PCB named wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan as the new white-ball captain, replacing Babar Azam.
