This news might come as a relief to those needing to access banking services on Dhanteras. However, a bank holiday has been declared for Diwali on October 31st.

This Diwali, there is some confusion regarding the exact date, with some celebrating on October 31st while others on November 1st. Banks will be closed on October 31st in Delhi, Goa, Kerala, Assam, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.

On November 1st, banks will be closed in states celebrating Diwali Amavasya (Lakshmi Pujan), Diwali, Kut, and Kannada Rajyotsava. Further, states celebrating Diwali (Bali Pratipada), Bali Padyami, Lakshmi Puja (Diwali), Govardhan Puja, and Vikram Samvat New Year will remain closed on November 2nd.
