**Mumbai:** NCP (Sharad) on Monday released a list of 7 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, bringing the total number of candidates declared by the party to 83 in four lists. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, comprising Congress, NCP (Sharad), and Shiv Sena (Shinde), has now declared 267 candidates for the elections.
**Engineer Rashid Sent Back to Tihar Jail as Delhi Court Postpones Bail Hearing**
**New Delhi:** The Delhi Court on Monday adjourned the bail hearing of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, accused in a terror funding case, until November 19. Consequently, Rashid, whose interim bail expired today, was sent back to Tihar Jail. The court had granted him bail on September 10, and he was released from jail on September 11.
**ED Conducts Fresh Raids in Bengaluru and Mysore in MUDA Scam Money Laundering Case**
**Bengaluru:** The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted fresh raids in Bengaluru and Mysore on Monday as part of its investigation into the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. The agency is conducting searches at 8 locations in the two cities. This follows earlier raids conducted on October 18, which targeted the MUDA office and other locations in Mysore. The ED has registered a case against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law, and others in connection with the MUDA scam. The ED had questioned Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvati B.M, at her Bengaluru office for two hours last Friday.
**Encounter Underway in J&K’s Akhnoor After Terrorists Fire at Army Vehicle**
**Jammu:** Suspected terrorists fired at an Army vehicle near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jogwan area of Akhnoor sector in Jammu district on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 7.25 AM. Security forces have cordoned off the village and surrounding areas, and a search operation is underway to locate the terrorists. According to reports, the Army personnel were traveling from Bhattal to Akhnoor when villagers informed them about the presence of heavily armed terrorists near the Asan temple in the Bhattal area. The terrorists fired 15-20 rounds at the vehicle, though no casualties were reported. The soldiers in the vehicle are safe.
**Fire Breaks Out at Fireworks Shop in Hyderabad, One Woman Injured**
**Hyderabad:** A fire broke out at a fireworks shop in the Hanuma Tekdi area of Abids, Hyderabad, on Sunday night. One woman sustained burn injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The blaze erupted at the Paras Fire Works shop, prompting the deployment of three fire tenders to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 10:30 PM. The incident resulted in damage to 7-8 cars.
**Cyclone-Affected Odisha Faces Power Outage, CM Assures Restoration is in Final Stage**
**Bhubaneswar:** Over 50,000 homes in cyclone-affected areas of Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore districts in Odisha are still without power. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, after reviewing the situation on Sunday, said that the power restoration work is in the final stage and road blockades have been completely removed. The CM stated that power supply has been restored in 98% of the affected areas. Out of 22.84 lakh electricity consumers affected by the cyclone, power has been restored to 22.32 lakh homes. The cyclone had impacted 8 lakh people in Odisha.
