Tue Oct 29 15:39:32 UTC 2024: ## Alwar Gears Up for Diwali Festivities Amidst Green Crackers Debate

**Alwar, October 27, 2024:** Alwar is all set to celebrate Diwali with markets adorned with festive lights and decorations. The festival begins with Dhanteras on Tuesday, October 29th, which falls under five auspicious yogas. This year, the five auspicious yogas, Trigrahi, Tripushkar, Indra, Lakshminarayan, and Shash Mahapurush Rajyoga, are predicted to bring prosperity and blessings.

While the state government has allowed green firecrackers in NCR from 8 pm to 10 pm, the Alwar district administration has not issued licenses for green crackers. Alwar Collector Dr. Artika Shukla cited the city’s continuous rise in AQI due to its inclusion in NCR and the lack of time to process license applications as reasons for the decision. However, green crackers are being sold in various parts of the city.

Despite the lack of licenses, the administration has announced a few restrictions: crackers are banned within 100 meters of hospitals, nursing homes, primary and district health centers, educational institutions, courts, and religious places. The public is advised to adhere to the prescribed timeframe of 8 pm to 10 pm for bursting firecrackers and refrain from using banned crackers.

Pundit Yagyadatt Sharma has clarified that Dhanteras will be celebrated on October 29th, as the auspicious time falls between 10:33 am on October 29th and 1:16 pm on October 30th. This day holds special significance for purchasing items like gold and silver ornaments, utensils, vehicles, electronic goods, and properties.

Several business establishments and industries will also be changing their account books and conducting Kubera puja on this day. Roop Chaturdashi will be observed on October 30th under the Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga, which falls between 1:17 pm on October 30th and 3:53 pm on October 31st.

With its vibrant markets, traditional rituals, and a spirit of festivity, Alwar is ready to welcome Diwali with open arms, even amidst the ongoing debate regarding green crackers.
