Mon Oct 28 00:20:10 UTC 2024: ## Raiders Coach Ditches “Mahomes Rules” Ahead of Chiefs Matchup

**Las Vegas, NV** – With the Raiders set to face the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs twice in the coming month, head coach Antonio Pierce has downplayed his earlier comments about a “Patrick Mahomes Rules” strategy.

Pierce, who took over as head coach this year, had previously declared his intention to implement a physical approach against Mahomes, similar to the way the Detroit Pistons “whupped” Michael Jordan in the 80s. He even referenced the “Jordan Rules,” a strategy employed by the Pistons to physically defend the Chicago Bulls star.

However, when asked about his plans for the upcoming Chiefs matchups, Pierce jokingly brushed off his earlier comments, stating, “I said that when? We’re leaving it in the past, man. 2024. Leave it in the past.”

Despite the coach’s change in tone, the Raiders, who are currently 2-5, are still the last team to defeat the Chiefs. The Raiders pulled off a surprising victory over Kansas City on Christmas Day last year, relying heavily on a dominant defensive performance that included multiple sacks of Mahomes and forced turnovers.

While the Raiders are currently struggling, especially on defense, their players remain confident in their ability to face Mahomes and the Chiefs.

With the Chiefs looking unbeatable, the Raiders will need to find a way to replicate their defensive success from last year if they want to pull off another upset.
