**Hyderabad, India (October 28, 2024)** – In a momentous celebration of Telugu cinema legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan presented the prestigious ANR National Award to Telugu actor Chiranjeevi on Monday. The ceremony marked the 100th birth anniversary of ANR, the father of renowned actor Nagarjuna.
The event was held in Hyderabad and saw a heartwarming moment when Bachchan, 82, presented Chiranjeevi, 69, with a shawl and trophy. An emotional Chiranjeevi bowed down to Bachchan, touching his feet as a mark of respect and receiving his blessings. The “Waltair Veerayya” actor later posed for a picture with Bachchan and Nagarjuna on stage.
The ANR National Award, established in 2005 by the Akkineni International Foundation, recognizes exceptional contributions to Indian cinema. Bachchan himself received the award in 2014, joining a distinguished list of recipients including Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar, SS Rajamouli, Hema Malini, and more.
Nagarjuna, who announced the event on social media, emphasized the significance of commemorating his father’s centenary. He expressed his honor in having both Bachchan and Chiranjeevi present at the awards ceremony.
Chiranjeevi is currently gearing up for the release of his fantasy film “Vishwambhara”, scheduled for January 10, 2025.
