**Hyderabad, India** – In a grand ceremony held in Hyderabad on Monday, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan presented the prestigious ANR National Award to Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. The award, established by the Akkineni International Foundation in honor of the legendary actor-producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), recognizes outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.
During his acceptance speech, Bachchan paid tribute to ANR, calling him a “colossus” who enriched the Telugu film industry and Indian cinema as a whole. He highlighted ANR’s lasting impact on entertainment, culture, and the lives of many.
Bachchan also commended ANR’s son, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, and his family for upholding ANR’s legacy. He shared a poignant poem written by his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, which spoke about true inheritance being more than just blood ties.
