**VILLUPURAM:** Preparations are in full swing for the first state conference of actor Vijay’s political party, Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), scheduled for this Sunday in V. Salai near Vikravandhi. On Thursday, officials from the police, public works, and electricity departments inspected the venue.
The stage features large cutouts of Vijay, former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, Periyar E.V. Ramasamy, and B.R. Ambedkar. Some spaces remain vacant, and sources suggest that a cutout of a Dravidian leader might be placed to avoid controversy. The venue will also display images of historical figures like Tamil queen Thillaiyadi Valli, freedom fighter Velu Nachiar, and Anjalai Ammal, as well as figures from the Chola, Chera, and Pandya dynasties.
