**New Delhi:** The much-anticipated “Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024” kicked off in Delhi on Saturday with Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh drawing massive crowds to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. However, the excitement was overshadowed by severe traffic congestion, which even Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal experienced firsthand.

Goyal, a known fan of Dosanjh, documented his journey to the concert on social media, sharing videos of bumper-to-bumper traffic and eventually walking the last part of his journey after abandoning his car.

“Walking the last mile to the JLN stadium for Diljit. Sooooo much traffic,” he wrote, highlighting the lengths fans were willing to go to witness the show.

Despite Delhi Police deploying over 3,000 officers and implementing road closures and diversions, the concert rush led to traffic jams stretching for kilometers around the stadium. Many fans took to social media to share their woes, with some reporting journeys that usually take 15 minutes taking nearly two hours.

The traffic chaos comes after Dosanjh’s successful tour across the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. His Diwali-timed concert in Delhi attracted an estimated 35,000 attendees. The Delhi Police deployed plainclothes officers and CCTV cameras throughout the area to ensure security.

While fans faced delays, Dosanjh’s tour is just getting started. He will perform in other major cities including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.

The incident adds another layer to the already busy life of Goyal, who has recently made headlines for his hands-on approach to leadership at Zomato. Earlier this month, he delivered food on a Zomato scooter with his wife, connecting with the company’s core service and winning praise from fans for his relatable approach.
