Hyderabad, India – In the latest crackdown on rave party culture, Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) police busted a rave party at a farmhouse in Janwada, allegedly owned by the brother-in-law of former BRS Minister KT Ramarao.
The raid, conducted jointly by Narsingi police, SOT, and Excise officials, resulted in the apprehension of 35 individuals, including 21 men and 14 women, who were attending the party. Police discovered unauthorized liquor, including seven foreign liquor bottles totaling 10.5 liters and 10 loose Indian liquor bottles, indicating that no liquor permit was obtained.
Further investigation revealed that one individual present at the party tested positive for cocaine consumption. He was immediately taken to the hospital for further tests and a case was registered against him under Section 27 of the NDPS Act. The farmhouse owner was also booked under Sections 34 A, 34 (1) r/w 9 of the Excise Act for hosting the event without permission.
This incident comes on the heels of recent rave party busts in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, raising concerns about the growing rave party culture in Indian cities. The police are continuing their investigation, and more details regarding the case are awaited.
