Sun Oct 27 07:15:22 UTC 2024: ## BJP Leaders Accuse KTR’s Brother-in-Law of Hosting Drug-Fueled Rave Party in Hyderabad

**Hyderabad, October 27, 2024**: A political storm has erupted in Hyderabad following allegations that a rave party with drugs and alcohol was held at a farmhouse owned by the brother-in-law of Telangana IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, a prominent leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused KTR and the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) of trying to cover up the incident. He called KTR a “hypocrite” and questioned how a rave party could take place at his brother-in-law’s farmhouse. “Even if drugs were found, he might try to cover it up,” Sanjay Kumar alleged.

The BJP leader further criticized the TRS government for its alleged inaction on the issue of drugs in the state. “This incident shows the hypocrisy of the Congress and the TRS,” he said, adding that a thorough investigation must be conducted into the incident.

Meanwhile, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao, also from the BJP, demanded immediate action from the state government. He claimed that despite promises of a drug-free Telangana, rave parties and drug trafficking are rampant in the state, especially on weekends.

Rao accused the Telangana police of deliberately delaying the release of CCTV footage from the farmhouse, which he believes would reveal the identity of VIPs who were present at the party. He demanded the immediate release of the footage within 12 hours, warning that any delay would indicate a cover-up attempt.

The incident came to light after police raided the farmhouse on Saturday night following reports of a rave party. 35 people were apprehended, including 21 men and 14 women, who were reportedly consuming alcohol and drugs.

Police have registered a case under the Excise Act against the organizers and have seized foreign liquor, illicit liquor, and gambling equipment from the farmhouse.

This incident has sparked a political controversy, with the BJP intensifying its attack on the TRS government over its alleged inaction on the drug menace.
