A stampede at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus railway station on Sunday morning left nine people injured. The incident occurred during a rush hour, as passengers attempted to board a train, leading to pushing and shoving.
Footage of the incident, released by news agency PTI, shows people lying injured on the ground. One person is seen sitting and groaning with a torn shirt, while another lies with a ripped pant leg.
The injured individuals have been identified as Shabir Abdul Rahman (40), Parmeshwar Sukhdev Gupta (28), Ravindra Harihar Chuma (30), Ramsewak Ravindra Prasad Prajapati (29), Sanjay Tilakram Kange (27), Divyanshu Yogendra Yadav (18), Mohammad Sharif Sheikh (25), Indrajit Sahani (19), and Noor Mohammad Sheikh (18).
Authorities are investigating the cause of the stampede and are providing medical assistance to the injured.
