**BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -** The Alabama State Hornets showcased their offensive prowess in a 27-19 victory over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in the 83rd annual Magic City Classic on Saturday.

Quarterback Kareem Keye led the Hornets’ attack, connecting on two touchdown passes – a 31-yard strike to Asa Gregg early in the game and a 6-yard scoring toss to Derick Harden. Daquon Kincey powered the Hornets’ rushing attack, gaining 156 yards on the ground.

The Hornets built a commanding 27-3 lead entering the fourth quarter thanks to a pair of field goals and a pick-six by Ta’Shaun Sims.

The Bulldogs mounted a late comeback attempt, sparked by two touchdown passes from Xavier Lankford to Keenan Hambrick, including a 65-yard bomb. Despite converting two-point conversions after each score, the Bulldogs fell short with 5 minutes remaining.

Lankford finished the game with 207 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Hambrick led the Bulldogs’ receiving corps with 139 yards and both of Lankford’s touchdown receptions.

The Hornets’ defense stood strong, limiting the Bulldogs’ offense and securing the victory in a thrilling matchup.
