Sun Oct 27 11:20:13 UTC 2024: ## DMK-led Alliance in Tamil Nadu Strong, Claims Stalin Amidst Opposition Allegations
**Chennai:** Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has asserted that the India alliance in the state remains united and will secure a resounding victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. He was reacting to allegations by AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami claiming that alliance partners are drifting away from the DMK.
Stalin refuted these claims, stating that discussions and debates are a natural part of any alliance. However, he emphasized that there is no rift within the coalition and urged everyone to refrain from speculating.
“The alliance in Tamil Nadu is not just for elections; it is based on shared ideology,” Stalin said. He highlighted the strength of the alliance and asserted its resilience against attempts to fracture it.
Accusing Palaniswami of harboring envy towards the popularity of the DMK government, Stalin dismissed his pronouncements as “invalid and baseless.” He also mocked Palaniswami’s prediction of the alliance’s downfall, suggesting he’s trying to become an astrologer.
The recent tensions in the alliance arose from the criticism faced by the DMK government from its allies. The CPI(M), VCK and others raised concerns regarding the handling of the Samsung factory protests, the Murugan temple issue, and the murder of a BSP leader.
While the alliance remains strong, the recent criticisms and rumors of internal conflicts within the coalition highlight the challenges ahead for the DMK in consolidating its power and achieving a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
