**Tindivanam:** Two individuals were apprehended by the Tindivanam police on Tuesday night near the Vellimedupettai bus stand while riding a motorbike. Upon searching the bag they were carrying, authorities discovered 607 packets of gutkha, pan masala, Kulip, and Hans.
The arrested individuals were identified as Riyasudeen (25) and Gopinath (25), both residents of the Rosana area in Tindivanam. Investigations revealed that Riyasudeen, a former City Youth Wing President of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, currently serves as a functionary of the party.
Following the discovery of the contraband, the duo were taken into custody by the police.
