**New Delhi:** The Indian Railways has announced plans to fill nearly 50,000 vacant positions in 2024, bringing good news for job seekers across the country. The recruitment calendar, to be released soon by the Railway Board, will cover a wide range of positions, including Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) and Group D roles.

Candidates who appeared for the 12th standard qualifying exam are eligible to apply for the NTPC and Group D positions. The Railway Board has already sought details of vacant positions from various recruitment boards, and recruitment processes are underway. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Muzaffarpur, along with other boards across the country, is preparing for the upcoming recruitment drive.

**Online Exams & Stricter Rules:** All exams will be conducted online, with advertisements for each recruitment phase released every two to three months. A designated nodal board will be responsible for each phase of the exam. To prevent malpractices and paper leaks, the Railway Board has implemented stricter rules. Those found involved in paper leaks will be dismissed from service, facing a fine of up to one crore rupees and a five-year jail sentence.

**Ongoing Recruitment Process:** The Railways currently has an ongoing recruitment process for 45,708 positions. Tata Consultancy Services will conduct the exams, and admit cards will be issued once the exam centers are finalized.

* **Assistant Loco Pilot:** 18,799 positions
* **RPF SI:** 4,660 positions
* **Technician:** 14,298 positions
* **Junior Engineer:** 7,951 positions
