**New Delhi, October 25, 2024:** The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at 13 locations across five states – Delhi, Maharashtra (Mumbai), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Karnataka (Bengaluru), and Punjab (Chandigarh) – on Friday, investigating a massive ticket scam related to the upcoming Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh concerts.

The ED launched the probe following numerous reports of fraudulent ticket sales and exploitation of fans through inflated prices for entry passes to both events. The Diljit Dosanjh concert is scheduled for October 26-27 at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in Delhi, while the Coldplay event, “Music of the Spheres World Tour”, is slated for January 2025 in Navi Mumbai.

The investigation, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002, is based on multiple FIRs filed across the country, including one by online ticket booking portal BookMyShow. These FIRs allege that several individuals are exploiting fans by selling fake tickets and exorbitantly inflating prices, capitalizing on the high demand for the concerts.

The ED’s search operation yielded several incriminating materials, including mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards, potentially linked to the alleged scam. The agency aims to unravel the financial network supporting the illegal ticket sales and trace the proceeds of crime generated from such activities.

Both events have generated immense excitement among fans, leading to an overwhelming response on official ticketing platforms like BookMyShow and Zomato Live. Tickets sold out within minutes, creating a lucrative market for scalpers to exploit the high demand and profit from inflated prices.

Several fans have reported being sold fake tickets or being overcharged for legitimate ones, prompting authorities to take action against the alleged scam. The ED’s investigation is expected to shed light on the extent of the fraud and hold those responsible accountable.
