He has accumulated 1007 runs in 10 Tests this year, averaging 59.23 with a strike-rate of 75.88, including a top score of 214 against England. Joe Root currently leads the 2024 run charts with 1305 runs from 14 Tests. Jaiswal’s impressive performance follows a strong debut of 171 runs against the West Indies last year. Despite his successful 2024 overall, Jaiswal has struggled in the ongoing series against New Zealand, scoring only 13 and 35 in the first Test, and 30 runs in the second Test before getting out. He is anticipated to be a key player in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
