Fri Oct 25 08:58:22 UTC 2024: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to travel to Kerala today in connection with the Wayanad by-elections. Key Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is expected to file her nomination for the elections tomorrow, and CM Reddy will attend the nomination event. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi secured victory in both Wayanad and Raebareli, subsequently deciding to continue as the MP from Raebareli, necessitating the by-election in Wayanad.

The Congress party is treating the Wayanad by-election as highly significant, with a focus on retaining the seat using Priyanka Gandhi, believing her connection to the Gandhi family will enhance her chances of winning. In the 2019 elections, Rahul Gandhi lost in Amethi but won in Wayanad by a substantial margin. The Congress leadership, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, is expected to attend Priyanka’s nomination.

On the opposing side, the BJP has also fielded a strong candidate, Navya Haridas, in a strategic move to capture Wayanad. Meanwhile, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has intensified its campaign to regain its former glory in the upcoming by-elections.
