Sun Oct 20 05:14:08 UTC 2024: – Vikash Yadav was arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police about 10 months ago for involvement in an attempted murder and kidnapping case and is wanted by the FBI for allegedly plotting the assassination of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
– The arrest followed a complaint from a Delhi businessman who stated he was introduced to Vikash by someone claiming to be a senior government officer. The businessman alleged that Vikash, posing as an undercover agent, abducted him under false pretenses.
– Vikash’s accomplice revealed during interrogation that they targeted the businessman for financial gain, after suffering losses in a vehicle-selling business.
– The businessman was assaulted and robbed, but ultimately reported the incident to the police, leading to Vikash’s arrest on December 18, 2023.
– Vikash was granted bail in April 2024 after charges including kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and attempted murder were filed against him.
– Recently, US authorities identified Vikash as “CC-1” in the murder-for-hire case involving Pannun, charging him with conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering. The FBI has stated that he is a former officer of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
– The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Vikash Yadav is no longer employed by the government.
