– Jain was initially granted interim bail for medical reasons by the Supreme Court on May 26, 2023, but returned to Tihar Jail after his bail request was denied in March 2023.
– He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 30, 2022, on charges of illegal funds received through four companies.
– Jain’s arrest was based on an FIR filed by the CBI in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
– The special judge, Vishal Gogna, noted the delays and lengthy incarceration during the hearing and granted bail on a bond of ₹50,000 and two sureties of the same amount.
