Fri Oct 18 04:10:00 UTC 2024: ## India Stumbles in Bengaluru Test, New Zealand Dominates Day 3

**Bengaluru, India:** India’s hopes of a comeback in the first Test against New Zealand remain slim after a disastrous third day at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Kiwis, after securing a massive first innings lead, continued their dominance on Friday, leaving the hosts in a precarious position.

The Indian team, bowled out for a paltry 46 in their first innings, were left chasing a mammoth target. New Zealand, on the other hand, took full advantage of the situation, extending their lead to over 250 runs by the end of the day.

Rachin Ravindra was the standout performer for New Zealand, smashing a century and guiding the Kiwis towards a comfortable score. He reached triple figures with a fluent 124 runs off 124 balls, including 11 fours and 2 sixes, while Tim Southee provided valuable support.

India’s bowlers struggled to contain the New Zealand onslaught, with the hosts managing to take only three wickets throughout the day. R. Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav were introduced early into the day’s play, but they failed to make any significant impact.

Despite a mini-comeback with four wickets in the morning session, India found themselves on the back foot once again. With New Zealand inching closer to the 300-run mark, the hosts face a mountain to climb if they want to salvage any hope of a win.

The match resumes on Saturday, with India needing a miracle to turn the tide in their favour.
