**New Delhi, India:** Another flight was targeted by a hoax bomb threat on Thursday, marking the latest in a string of similar incidents that have disrupted flight operations across India. The incident, involving a Vistara flight from Frankfurt to Mumbai, follows nearly 20 bomb hoaxes reported over the past three days.
The Vistara flight, carrying 147 passengers and crew, was forced to make an emergency landing after receiving the threat. The Boeing 787 aircraft was taken to an isolation bay for mandatory security checks before all passengers were safely disembarked. The incident occurred despite a statement from the Civil Aviation Ministry assuring a parliamentary panel that the perpetrator behind the threats is being identified and will face further action.
Adding to the growing concern, police have detained a teenager from Chhattisgarh suspected of making hoax bomb threats to at least three flights. The teenager has been sent to the Juvenile Justice Board, and authorities are investigating his potential involvement in other threats.
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu condemned the “mischievous and unlawful actions,” stating that they are a matter of grave concern and the government will take all necessary measures to ensure passenger safety and maintain the smooth operation of the aviation sector.
