Two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, are facing an indefinite stay on the International Space Station (ISS) after repairs to their Boeing space capsule have been delayed. The pair launched to the orbiting lab seven weeks ago for what was intended to be a one-week mission. However, unexpected issues with the capsule have forced NASA to postpone their return.
Stardome astronomer Josh Aoraki, speaking on Radio, expressed concern for the astronauts’ well-being and highlighted the challenges of prolonged space travel. He noted that while the ISS is equipped with essential supplies, an indefinite stay could pose psychological and logistical difficulties.
NASA is working diligently to resolve the capsule issues, but a timeline for the astronauts’ return remains uncertain.
