**Dibalang, Assam:** A train derailment occurred on the Lumding-Badarpur hill section near Dibalang station in Assam on [Date] morning, with eight coaches of the 12520 Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Express derailing. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:55 AM when the express train, which departed Agartala earlier that morning, derailed near Dibalang station. The power car and engine, along with seven other coaches, left the tracks.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that all passengers are safe. “There have been no casualties and all passengers are safe. We are coordinating with railway officials, and a relief train will reach the spot soon,” he stated.
A rescue and restoration team, including senior officials from Lumding, a medical team, and a derailment relief train, have been dispatched to the site. Train operations on the Lumding-Badarpur single line section have been suspended for the time being.
Railway officials have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the derailment. The inquiry will assess the condition of the tracks and the train’s mechanical systems.
Efforts are underway to assist affected passengers and arrange alternative travel arrangements. A team of technical experts is evaluating the damage and clearing the affected section.
