Thu Oct 17 08:50:00 UTC 2024: ## NASA Plans Busy Year of Space Station Missions with Boeing and SpaceX

**Houston, TX** – NASA’s Commercial Crew Program is gearing up for a busy year of missions to the International Space Station in 2025, with both Boeing and SpaceX set to contribute to the effort. The agency plans to send two SpaceX Crew Dragon missions and potentially a Boeing Starliner flight, depending on the company’s progress towards system certification.

**SpaceX Crew-10** will launch no earlier than February 2025, carrying NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov to the station. This mission marks the second spaceflight for McClain and Onishi, and the first for Ayers and Peskov.

**SpaceX Crew-11** is targeted for no earlier than July 2025, aiming to benefit the space station’s needs, including accommodating resupply flights and other operations. The crew for this mission will be announced at a later date.

The return of **Crew-9**, which launched in September 2024, will coincide with the arrival of Crew-10, with NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore joining the returning crew.

**Boeing’s Starliner**, meanwhile, is still undergoing certification, with NASA keeping open the possibility of a flight in 2025. The agency will provide more information on Starliner’s schedule once Boeing’s path to certification is clearer.

The success of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective access to the International Space Station, allowing for continuous scientific research and fostering commercial access to other destinations in low-Earth orbit.
