**Bengaluru, India:** India’s hopes for a quick turnaround in the first Test against New Zealand were boosted by a crucial breakthrough on Day 2. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed opener Tom Latham for 15, ending a promising start for the visitors.

New Zealand, who bowled India out for a paltry 46 on Day 1, were looking to build a substantial lead. Devon Conway continued his impressive form, moving into the 30s. He is now joined by Will Young at the crease as New Zealand look to bat through the day.

Earlier, India endured a disastrous start, losing wickets at a rapid pace. Five Indian batsmen were dismissed for ducks, a record low in Test cricket for the country. Only Rishabh Pant (20) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) managed double-figure scores.
