Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Sean Tucker has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 6, following a breakout performance in the team’s 51-27 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Tucker, a second-year player out of Syracuse, racked up a career-high 192 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. He rushed for 136 yards on 14 carries, averaging a remarkable 9.7 yards per attempt, and added 56 yards on three receptions. His performance led all players in rushing yards, rushing yards per attempt, and scrimmage yards for the week. This marks the first time a Tampa Bay running back has earned this honor since Leonard Fournette in 2021.

Tucker’s impressive showing was the third-highest scrimmage yardage total by any NFL player this season, only trailing Derrick Henry (209 yards) and Ja’Marr Chase (193 yards). It also stands as the third-most scrimmage yards in a single game among undrafted players over the past five seasons.

The Buccaneers’ Week 6 performance was historic, marking the first time a team has scored 50-plus points in the 2024 season. They also achieved a franchise-record 594 total net yards, becoming only the fifth team in NFL history to record 300+ passing yards (317) and 275+ rushing yards (277) in a single game.

Tucker’s breakout performance is sure to generate excitement for Buccaneers fans as the team looks to continue its winning ways.
