Wed Oct 16 20:46:33 UTC 2024: ## Bajaj Auto Invests $10 Million in Brazil Unit, Signaling Confidence in Exports Market

**Pune, India -** Bajaj Auto Ltd., the Indian motorcycle manufacturer, is doubling down on its Brazilian operations with a $10 million investment, indicating a bullish outlook on the global exports market. The company, which saw a 5% year-on-year increase in two-wheeler exports in the recent quarter, is expanding its Brazilian production capacity beyond 20,000 units per year and aims to increase its dealership network to 50 across the country.

The investment, approved by the board of directors on Wednesday, will be used to localize production in accordance with Brazilian regulations, which require a certain amount of local input for manufacturers exceeding a production threshold. The move comes just two years after Bajaj Brazil was incorporated in March 2022, and its manufacturing facility in Manaus began production in June 2024.

Despite facing economic challenges in some export markets, Bajaj Auto is witnessing signs of a rebound. While Latin America, particularly Mexico, continues to be a strong market for the company, Nigeria, which had previously been impacted by high inflation, is also showing signs of recovery.

Bajaj Auto’s global market share currently stands at 26% in the two-wheeler segment, with a dominant 75% share in the three-wheeler market. The company operates in 75 countries with 66 dealerships.

The company’s stock price closed 0.85% higher on Wednesday, bucking the trend of a 0.39% decline in the benchmark Sensex index.
