Thu Oct 17 12:43:44 UTC 2024: ## UP CM to Meet Family of Bahraich Violence Victim, Assures Strict Action Against Culprits
**Lucknow, October 15, 2024:** Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will meet the family of Ram Gopal Mishra, who was killed in the recent violence in Bahraich, today. The victim’s father, Kailash Nath, who has arrived in Lucknow, has alleged that his son was shot dead, demanding strict punishment for the culprits.
“My son was murdered, I want those responsible to be punished. They’ve destroyed my family,” Kailash Nath said, expressing his grief and anger.
Following the incident, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has assured that the situation in Bahraich is under control and a high-level inquiry into the violence has been ordered. He further stated that lax police officers will be investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
“We are with the families of the victims. The incident has caused immense pain,” Pathak said, adding that the Samajwadi Party has a history of instigating violence.
The CM has taken the Bahraich violence seriously and has ordered strict action against negligent officers. SP Vrinda Shukla may be removed from her post, while ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash and Home Secretary Sanjiv Gupta have been stationed in the region since Monday.
Following the violence on Monday, security in Bahraich has been beefed up, with police personnel from several districts, 12 companies of PAC, and RPF units deployed to maintain law and order.
