England’s aggressive ‘Bazball’ approach continued in the first Test against Pakistan in Multan, with opener Zak Crawley making a blistering 78 runs off 85 deliveries. Crawley’s knock propelled him past Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the list of all-time World Test Championship (WTC) run-scorers.
Crawley, now the seventh-highest run-scorer in WTC history, has amassed 2638 runs at an average of 35.17. In contrast, Rohit, who has played significantly fewer innings, has 2594 runs at an impressive average of 47.16. Both players have busy schedules ahead, with England facing Pakistan and New Zealand in the coming months, while India will play against New Zealand and Australia.
Meanwhile, Joe Root, the leading run-scorer in WTC history, is on track to reach his 17th century in the competition. He has also surpassed Alastair Cook to become England’s highest run-scorer in Test cricket.
