Wed Oct 16 05:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Trump Condemns Biopic “The Apprentice” as “Cheap Hatchet Job,” Stan Accuses Him of Censorship

**London, UK** – Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on the new biopic “The Apprentice,” calling it a “cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job” aimed at harming his 2024 presidential campaign. The film, which chronicles Trump’s rise as a New York City businessman in the 1970s and 1980s, premiered to mixed reviews and a lackluster box office performance.

Sebastian Stan, who portrays Trump in the film, has accused the former president of attempted censorship. “He’s been trying to censor this movie, and at the same time, he claims that he acknowledges free speech… I can’t think of anything more hypocritical,” Stan told The Hollywood Reporter.

Trump, in a characteristically fiery response, labeled the film “FAKE” and “CLASSLESS” on his social media platform, Truth Social. He also claimed the movie was released strategically to damage his political movement, calling it “the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country.”

Despite Trump’s attempts to discredit the film, Stan remains optimistic about its impact. “I don’t know if it will influence people before the election,” he said, “but I hope it makes them curious enough to dig deeper. We live in a world where opinions are handed to us everywhere we turn.”

Stan believes “The Apprentice” goes beyond political commentary, focusing on the character of Trump himself. He urges audiences to “forget the politics and just ask yourself: Do you trust this man? That’s what the movie is about.”

The biopic also features Jeremy Strong from “Succession” as Roy Cohn, Trump’s real-life lawyer and mentor. It remains to be seen whether “The Apprentice” will ultimately resonate with audiences or become a casualty of the increasingly polarized political climate.
