Wed Oct 16 01:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Heavy Rains Expected in South India, Yellow Alert for Coastal Karnataka, Maharashtra

**New Delhi:** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in several parts of south India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, south interior Karnataka, and coastal Andhra Pradesh. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, and central Maharashtra.

Tamil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rainfall over the next few days. Chief Minister MK Stalin has reviewed the preparedness and measures taken by officials to deal with the anticipated situation, following the IMD’s prediction of heavy rains for the next four days.

Meanwhile, Delhi has witnessed a dip in minimum temperatures over the past few days, with a drop of around 3 degrees Celsius. This trend is expected to continue for the next few days.

In Uttar Pradesh, the rainy season is coming to an end, with people eagerly awaiting the arrival of winter. The minimum temperature in many parts of the country is expected to drop further by Diwali.
