Wed Oct 16 09:22:42 UTC 2024: ## Chhattisgarh Government Announces 4% DA Hike for Employees, Bringing Total to 50%
**Raipur, October 16, 2024:** In a move aimed at boosting employee morale ahead of Diwali, the Chhattisgarh government announced a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees. This hike will bring the total DA to 50% of the basic salary, aligning it with the central government’s DA rate.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Say, who emphasized the importance of ensuring employee welfare and recognizing their hard work. The DA hike will benefit approximately 3.9 lakh state government employees and will come into effect from October 1st, 2024.
The increase marks the second DA hike this year for Chhattisgarh government employees. In March, the government had increased the DA by 4%, bringing it to 46% of the basic salary.
This move comes as the central government is also considering a DA hike for its employees, with speculation suggesting a potential increase of 3 to 4%. If implemented, this would raise the central government’s DA from the current 50% to 53-54%.
