The much-anticipated Indian adaptation of “Citadel,” titled “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” has finally released its action-packed trailer, showcasing the dynamic duo of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan. Directed by Raj and DK, the series promises a thrilling ride with a compelling narrative and impressive stunt sequences.
“Citadel: Honey Bunny” is a spin-off of Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s American spy web series “Citadel,” which garnered immense popularity. The Indian version, however, has its own unique storyline, set in the world of espionage and intrigue.
The trailer features Varun Dhawan as “Bunny,” a seasoned stuntman, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as “Honey,” a struggling actress. Their paths intertwine when Honey is roped into a dangerous mission, thrusting them into a world of action, espionage, and deception. Years later, their past catches up with them, forcing them to reunite and fight to protect their daughter, Nadia.
Varun Dhawan, who plays a double agent in the series, praised the character’s complexity and the challenges it presented. He said, “Bunny is unlike any character I’ve played before. As a spy, he not only leads a double life but every aspect of his personality has two different facets, which was incredibly exciting for me as an actor.”
“Citadel: Honey Bunny” also stars K.K. Menon, Ema Canning, Sikandar Kher, and Raimundo Quairido. The web series is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video on November 7, 2023, and promises to be a thrilling addition to the platform’s content library.
