**MUMBAI, INDIA -** India will shift their focus back to Test cricket after the conclusion of the T20I series against Bangladesh. The Rohit Sharma-led side will host New Zealand in a three-match Test series, with Virat Kohli aiming to reach a significant milestone.

Kohli, who recently arrived in Mumbai for the series, is targeting the 1,000-run mark against New Zealand in Test cricket. He currently sits on 866 runs from 11 matches, including three centuries and three half-centuries. Reaching this milestone would make him the third Indian with over 1,000 Test runs against the Kiwis.

Kohli has particularly excelled against New Zealand at home, amassing 557 runs in six matches at an impressive average of 55.70. This includes two centuries and two half-centuries.

Beyond the New Zealand challenge, Kohli is also on the cusp of another significant record. He stands on the brink of becoming only the fourth Indian batsman to surpass 9,000 Test runs. With 8,947 runs, he trails only Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar on the all-time list.
