Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again expressed his astonishment over gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s 25-year-old vendetta against Salman Khan, stemming from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Bishnoi, who was just five years old at the time of the incident, has publicly stated that his “life’s goal” is to kill Salman Khan as revenge for the killing of the blackbuck, an animal revered by the Bishnoi community.
Bishnoi’s resentment towards Salman Khan has continued to make headlines, particularly after the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique. Police suspect Bishnoi’s involvement in the killing, citing a Facebook post claiming that anyone assisting Salman Khan or the Dawood Ibrahim gang should “keep their accounts in order.”
Despite being in prison, Bishnoi has been linked to several high-profile murders, including Punjabi singer Siddhu Moosewala in 2022 and Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in 2023. He has also orchestrated attacks outside the residences of singers AP Dhillon and Gippy Garewal in Canada.
Bishnoi’s public animosity towards Salman Khan dates back to 2018 when he declared during a court appearance that he would “kill Salman Khan.”
While Salman Khan continues working on his upcoming projects, including Bigg Boss 18 and the film “Sikandar,” the threat posed by Lawrence Bishnoi remains a constant concern.
