**Multan, Pakistan:** England’s spin bowler Jack Leach has broken a 135-year-old record in the second Test match against Pakistan, currently underway at the Multan International Cricket Stadium.

Leach achieved this feat by taking two early wickets in the first session of the match. He dismissed Abdullah Shafique for 7 runs and captain Shan Masood for 3 runs within the first 10 overs. This feat makes Leach the first English spin bowler to take two wickets in the first 10 overs since 1889, surpassing the record previously held by Johnny Briggs.

The record was set by Briggs, a legendary English cricketer who played international cricket between 1884 and 1899. He took 118 wickets in 33 Test matches at an economy rate of 2.35.

In the first session, Pakistan reached 79 runs for the loss of two wickets in 29 overs, with Saud Shakeel (40) and Kamran Ghulam (29) currently batting.

Leach’s achievement adds another interesting chapter to this exciting Test match, with the series tied at 0-0. The match is expected to continue to be a thrilling contest with both teams vying for a win.
