**LAS VEGAS, Nev.** – NV Energy is replacing aging power poles on Mt. Charleston with new fire mitigation equipment, improving fire safety and resilience in the area.
The project, which began on October 14th and is expected to last until the end of 2024, involves replacing power poles in Angel Peak with new ones equipped with innovative fire mesh technology.
The mountainous terrain necessitates the use of helicopters for transportation and installation. Despite the challenging conditions, NV Energy assures residents that power outages or road closures are not anticipated.
The project is part of NV Energy’s larger initiative, Power Safe NV, aimed at enhancing equipment protection from natural disasters.
