**Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir:** A government school teacher in Kishtwar district has been suspended after a video surfaced online allegedly showing him physically punishing a student.
Anayatullah Ahanger, posted at Primary School Gowarian Dhar in the remote Inderwal area, was immediately placed on leave pending an investigation.
The video, which went viral on social media, sparked outrage and prompted the Chief Education Officer, Javed Ahmad Kitchloo, to take swift action. He ordered the suspension and also formed a three-member committee to thoroughly investigate the incident.
The incident highlights the ongoing issue of corporal punishment in schools and underscores the need for a zero-tolerance policy towards such practices.
