Tue Oct 15 08:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Jamie Foxx Returns to Stage, Shares Story of Medical Emergency
**Atlanta, GA** – Actor and comedian Jamie Foxx has finally taken the stage to share his story after a mysterious medical emergency last year. The star, who performed three shows in Atlanta, revealed in an Instagram post that the performances marked his first time onstage in 18 years.
“My heart and my soul is filled with nothing but pure joy,” Foxx wrote alongside a series of photos from the performance. “When people ask me is this a stand up comedy show I say no it’s an artistic explanation. Of some thing that went terribly wrong, but thanks to the great people in Atlanta especially Piedmont Hospital you enabled me to come back and be on stage and do what I love to do the most.”
Foxx’s performance included stand-up, monologuing, and musical elements. Photos show Foxx seated behind a piano and watching his 16-year-old daughter Anelise play guitar.
The actor was hospitalized in April 2023 with an undisclosed medical complication while filming the Netflix action-comedy “Back in Action” with Cameron Diaz. While details remain scarce, Foxx previously described experiencing a headache, asking for an Advil, and then being “gone for 20 days” with no memory of the experience.
Foxx was released from the hospital in May and has gradually returned to public life. He announced his stage show earlier this year, explaining, “Everybody wants to know what happened, and I’m gonna tell you what happened, but I got to do it in my way.”
Fans eagerly await the full account of Foxx’s medical journey, which he plans to share through his performance.
