Tue Oct 15 07:14:45 UTC 2024: ## India Set for Test Showdown with New Zealand, Bumrah to Deputy Rohit

**Bengaluru, October 10:** Following their dominant 2-0 Test series victory over Bangladesh, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian Cricket team is gearing up for a high-stakes three-match Test series against New Zealand. The series, starting on October 16th, will be a battle between the top-ranked team in the World Test Championship (India) and the 2021 champions (New Zealand).

The first Test will be played at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium from October 16-20, followed by matches at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (October 24-28) and Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium (November 1-5). All matches will begin at 9:30 am IST.

Adding intrigue to the series, Jasprit Bumrah will serve as Rohit Sharma’s deputy in all three Tests. This follows his leadership in the rescheduled fifth Test against England in July 2022 and the recent away T20I series against Ireland. Bumrah’s recent stellar performance against Bangladesh also saw him reclaim the No. 1 spot in the ICC bowlers’ ranking.

The series will be telecast live on Sports 18 and streamed on the JioCinema app and website.
