**Auckland, New Zealand** – The India New Zealand Business Council (INZBC) has announced a new leadership team, with Bharat Chawla appointed as Chair and Jonathan Manuel as Treasurer. Additionally, three new board members – Edwin Paul, Jenny McGregor, and Rachel Lynch – have joined the organization.
The changes come as INZBC continues its mission to strengthen ties between New Zealand and India, a relationship considered vital for both nations’ future prosperity. India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy and New Zealand’s 13th-largest trading partner.
Chawla, the newly appointed chair, expressed gratitude for the work of outgoing interim chair Jay Changlani, who will remain on the board. Chawla highlighted the council’s commitment to deepening ties across various sectors, including politics, business, academia, and culture, to drive mutual economic growth.
INZBC recently achieved success in hosting a food and beverage delegation at the World Food India event in Delhi, demonstrating the vast potential for collaboration in areas like food and beverage, aviation, technology, and agriculture.
The council also aims to expand New Zealand’s presence in India across education, civil society, and defense. The addition of new board members with diverse expertise is expected to significantly enhance INZBC’s strategic initiatives and drive further progress in bilateral relations.
The INZBC board now comprises Bharat Chawla, Jonathan Manuel, Carmen Vicelich, Jay Changlani, Earl Rattray, Prince Kumar, Edwin Paul, Jenny McGregor, and Rachel Lynch.
