**Hyderabad, October 15, 2024:** The Telangana High Court on Tuesday cleared the way for the Group-I main exams, scheduled to begin on October 21, by dismissing two writ petitions challenging the preliminary exam.

The petitioners, Group-I aspirants, had sought cancellation of the preliminary test held on June 9, citing various irregularities. One petition argued that the inclusion of 63 new posts with the existing 500 was illegal, unconstitutional, and arbitrary. The petitioners also challenged the extension of 10% reservation for scheduled tribes, arguing it should have applied only to the newly added 63 posts.

The second petition focused on the answer options provided for certain questions in the preliminary exam, demanding a revision of the answer key and a fresh selection process.

Justice Pulla Karthik, hearing both pleas, dismissed both petitions, paving the way for the commencement of the Group-I main exams. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) will now proceed with the examination as planned.
