Tue Oct 15 02:02:11 UTC 2024: ## Karnataka Pacer Prasidh Krishna’s Fitness Raises Concerns Ahead of New Zealand Series

**Indore, October 13, 2024:** India and Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna’s absence from the field on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-C match against Madhya Pradesh has raised concerns about his fitness. The 28-year-old, who was recently named as a travelling reserve for India’s upcoming three-Test series against New Zealand, bowled only eight overs on the first day of the match before experiencing discomfort while running.

Krishna’s absence comes after a recent return from a quadriceps injury that sidelined him for eight months. He was only able to bowl 14.5 overs in his previous Ranji Trophy match in January.

While no official statement has been made regarding the nature of his current ailment, it is understood that the bowler is experiencing some discomfort. The rain-battered outfield at the Holkar Stadium, which led to the cancellation of Saturday’s play, may also have played a role.

Prasidh Krishna is highly regarded by the Indian team management, and his form and physical well-being are crucial ahead of India’s upcoming five-Test tour of Australia. While his absence in Indore could be a precautionary measure, it leaves Karnataka a bowler short in their attempt to bowl out Madhya Pradesh and secure the first-innings lead.
