The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the election schedule for Maharashtra and Jharkhand, with polling set to conclude in November.

**Maharashtra:**

* The state assembly’s term is set to end on November 26th, 2024.
* Elections for all 285 assembly seats will be held in a single phase on **November 20th**.
* The notification for the elections will be issued on **October 22nd**, with the nomination process concluding on **October 29th**.
* Results will be declared on **November 23rd**.

**Jharkhand:**

* The state assembly’s term is set to end on January 5th, 2024.
* Elections for the 81 assembly seats will be held in two phases.
* **Phase 1:** Polling will be conducted on **November 13th** for a part of the assembly seats. The notification for this phase will be issued on **October 18th**, with the nomination process closing on **October 25th**.
* **Phase 2:** The remaining seats will be voted on **November 20th**. The notification for this phase will be issued on **October 22nd**, with the nomination process concluding on **October 29th**.
* The results for both phases will be declared on **November 23rd**.

Simultaneously, by-elections for 48 vacant assembly seats and 2 Lok Sabha seats will be conducted across various states.

The ECI has also stated that there will be a total of 186 polling booths and 29,562 polling centers set up across Maharashtra.

The announcement comes after the recent elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, with their results now being announced.
